First Site Reconnaissance (RECCE) to Larissa

SEEBRIG HQ is due to be relocated from its current location in Istanbul, Nation 7 to Larissa, Nation 3 , in June 2011. In this respect, a SEEBRIG team consisting of six officers and two NCOs conducted the first site RECCE to Nation 3 from July 19 to July 23, 2010.

04 June 2010 Peace Support Operations (PSO) exercise “Noble Jewel 10” was carried out by NRDC-T from 17 May to 01 June 2010 in Ayazaga Istanbul. SEEBRIG HQ has participated with a team of 6 members as response cell in the Exercise Control. The 22nd PMSC/MPFSEE Meeting and the 21st SEDM-CC Meeting were held from 28 to 30 September 2009, in Sofia,. PMSC and SEDM CC meetings are held twice per year, in order to provide guidance for further development of MPFSEE initiative and to coordinate all activities which are going on in the different SEDM projects. COMBINED ENDEAVOR 2009 (CE 09) is an annual, United States European Command (USEUCOM) – sponsored, “in the spirit of” Partnership for Peace (PfP) Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) integration and interoperability exercise. As a tradition, SEEBRIG participated in CE 09 between 04-17 September 2009 at Kozara Barracks in Banja Luka / Bosnia Herzegovina.

Two members of SEEBRIG Nucleus staff (Legal Advisor and Political Advisor) participated in XXXIInd Round Table which was held by International Institute Of Humanitarian. Annual Round Tables are organised in Sanremo on current problems of international humanitarian law. This year the topic was “ Non-State Actors and IHL. Organized Armed Groups : A Challenge for the 21st Century”
"SEESIM - 10" Exercise Specifications Conference

SEEBRIG participated in Exercise Specifications Conference (ESC) for Exercise “South Eastern Europe Simulation Network-10 (SEESIM-10)” between 8-11 September 2009. The ESC was organized by Nation 1 at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Tirana and co-chaired by USA Joint Force Command (JFC) representative with plenary sessions and daily Working Groups (WG).

SEEBRIG HQ members kept a moment of silence in remember of Nation 4 soldiers who lost their lifes in Afghanistan. SEEBRIG commemorated the death of 6 Nation 4 personnel on 17 September 2009 in KABUL while performing their patrolling duties.
Study Trip to Marmara and West Black Sea Regions

According to the SEEBRIG annual plan, a study trip to Marmara and West Black Sea Regions was organized on 2-3 September 2009. The activity purpose was to inform SEEBRIG HQ personnel and their dependents about geographical, economical, historical and cultural aspects of these regions of the host nation. A short ceremony was organized in Izmit in front of the earthquake monument where all participants observed a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of 1999 earthquakes.

SEEBRIG delegation consisting of three officers participated “Safe City Safe Life Meeting Istanbul 2009” in Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul on 14-15 August 2009. Handover/Takeover ceremony for the SEEBRIG Commandership as well as for the chairmanship of SEDM-CC & PMSC was conducted on Wednesday 15 July 2009 at General M.Mazlum ISKORA Barracks (Ayazaga / Istanbul / ). The Chairperson of SEDM-CC & PMSC, Mrs. Radica GAREVA ( ) handed over the post to representative of Ministry of Defence of Chairmanship of SEDM-CC & PMSC Mrs. Rositza DIMITROVA and Brig. Gen. Virgil BALACEANU ( ) transmitted the command of SEEBRIG to Brig. Gen. Zyber DUSHKU ( ).
