The 22nd PMSC/MPFSEE Meeting and the 21st SEDM-CC Meeting were held from 28 to 30 September 2009, in Sofia,. PMSC and SEDM CC meetings are held twice per year, in order to provide guidance for further development of MPFSEE initiative and to coordinate all activities which are going on in the different SEDM projects. COMSEEBRIG and other SEEBRIG staff officers attended both meetings.
At the beginning of the 22st PMSC/MPFSEE Meeting SEDM-CC and PMSC/MPFSEE Chairman - Na-2 Deputy Minister of Defense, Mr. Anyu Angelov, Lt.Gen.(Ret.) addressed to the participants underling the significance of the SEDM Process and its role in the regional security and stability. He announced the main future SEDM activities to be achieved during the next two years period of Na-2 SEDM-CC and PMSC/MPFSEE Chairmanship.
The representative of Na-5, the previous Chairmanship nation, presented a record of PMSC activities, since the last meeting and informed the PMSC about the steps taken so far.
The COMSEEBRIG Brigadier General Zyber Dushku presented an update of activities of HQ SEEBRIG, since the 21th PMSC Meeting in Skopje.
The PMSC endorsed the following documents:
- SEEBRIG SEEDRO Concept,
- SEEBRIG Triennial Plan 2010/2012 and
- SEEBRIG Budget plan for 2010.
All Nations unanimously expressed strong support for BiH to become MPFSEE observer nation.
The “SEEBRIG accomplishment medal” for the SEEBRIG HQ personnel, was approved.
The 21st. SEDM CC meeting was opened by the Chairman of the SEDM-CC, Lt.Gen.(Ret.) ANYU ANGELOV, Deputy Minister of Defence. In his opening address, the new SEDM-CC Chairman briefed the Committee on the priorities of the Bulgarian Chairmanship 2009-2011.
The representatives from chairing nations of different SEDM projects (SEESIM -10, IMIHO, CBSC and SEMEC) informed the audience about last development and way ahead of the respective projects.
Representative from Bulgaria gave an initial presentation on a new SEDM project “C4I Cooperation in SEE”, proposing its establishment.
Presentation “Counter-Terrorism Challenges in the Region of South Eastern Europe” was presented by representative from Slovenia.
The SEDM CC stressed the open door policy for SEDM enlargement.
