SEEBRIG evaluation team was welcomed by the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Miroslav STOJANOVSKI and the State Secretary, H.E. Petar Esmerov who emphasised the importance and the contribution of SEEBRIG, in the regional security and stability.
On behalf of SEEBRIG evaluation team, COMSEEBRIG, Br. Gen. Zyber DUSHKU appreciated the continuous support given by Nation 5 to SEEBRIG.
Later on, the visit started in Skopje, at the Eng. Company of 1st Infantry brigade, located at “Ilinden” Barracks. Brigade Commander, Br. Gen. Dimce Petrovski, warmly welcomed SEEBRIG evaluation team. After the briefing about the mission, personnel, equipment and training, the engineering platoon conducted a mini exercise based on road repair scenario.
At the end of the first day of the visit, a medal ceremony was organised in order to deliver “SEEBRIG Accomplishment Medal”. The medals were given to Nation 5 military personnel that have accomplished with success their mission, as SEEBRIG HQ nucleus staff members. During the ceremony COMSEEBRIG had a possibility to meet the Minister of Defence, H.E. Zoran Konjanovski, who was present on this event.
The evaluation visit continued next day to the mechanised infantry company, part of 1st. Infantry Brigade, located in Stip garrison. Brigade Commander, Br.Gen. Dimce Petrovski, welcomed SEEBRIG evaluation team. Company commander briefed the visitors about the mission, personnel, equipment and training of the company. Apart from the presentation, the infantry Company conducted two mini exercises related to the organisation of checkpoint and other different procedures, important for the successful participation in peace support operations.
SEEBRIG team had an excellent opportunity to observe that the training of the units was very good organized and conducted, in order to meet challenges and requirements of the future.
SEEBRIG team is convinced that all NA.5 units assigned to SEEBRIG are ready for participation in PSO.
