A SEEBRIG HQ evaluation team consisting of five officers, headed by COMSEEBRIG Brigadier General Zyber DUSHKU, conducted an evaluation visit to Nation 3 units assigned to SEEBRIG.
The visit was carried out between 22 to 25 of November 2010, in Thessaloniki, Kilkis and Polikastro Garrisons.
The overall objective of the visit was to evaluate the present capabilities of the 525th Mech. Bn, and Eng. Coy of 723rd Eng Bn, for the future possible involvement of these units in PSOs.
According to the evaluation program, the visit started at 723rd Eng Bn. barracks. After the briefing by Bn. Commander the units' facilities and equipments were inspected. A field demonstration was conducted with the aim to update SEEBRIG HQ on the current capabilities of SEEBRIG Eng. Bn. in performing its main tasks.
As part of the official program, SEEBRIG HQ delegation paid a visit to Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Centre (MPSOTC) in Kilkis. Future cooperation between SEEBRIG HQ and MPSOTC was the main discussion topic.
On the second day, the SEEBRIG HQ Team was welcomed by the 2nd Mech. Div. Commander and the 33rd Mech. Brig. Commander, in Polikastro Garrison and briefed about the organization and mission of the brigade. Thereafter, the Evaluation Team moved to 525th Mech. Bn. barracks where the Bn. Commander briefed the Evaluation Team on the battalion's capabilities and PSOs experience. The visit continued with an inspection of the units, focusing on the combat readiness, equipments, weapons and training facilities. Later on, a PSO Field Training Demonstration was conducted in Drossato Training Range. During the exercise were presented the organization and the main activities of a Convoy Escort, a Check Point and an Observation Post as well as an AIR MEDEVAC. Present in this activity were also local authorities.
The overall assessment was that the Na 3 assigned units are well prepared and capable to conduct any missions as part of SEEBRIG in PSOs.
